Lots of sewing has been happening so stick with me on this one. This is it, the last mini swap reveal of the year. I had originally promised I would be able to reveal in December but my partner has acknowledged on Instagram that she received the package. For this swap we were to make a Christmas craft, so I of course made a mini quilt. Of course, all the patterns I used are Lori Holt patterns. I went for a scrappy look so the mini would not be overly “matchy”. The other part of the swap was to include a Christmas ornament that was purchased or handmade. I thought it would be fun to make something so I spent some time looking for inspiration. I settled on these clay ornaments because my partner indicated that she liked a natural/ neutral palette for Christmas. I used DAS modeling clay and cookie stamps and cookie cutters. I poked holes with a toothpick in the clay while it was still wet to make room for hangers that I made out of baker’s twine. I was happy with how they turned out so I made several that I plan to attach to Christmas packages.
I also finished up all the Polaroid blocks for my Polaroid swap and they have all been mailed out. Once I have received all my blocks I’m going to get to work on a project with these. They are so much fun!!!
I finished up the November step for the Midnight Mystery Quilt Along hosted by Meadow Mist designs. This was a fun month as we get to see the pattern starting to take shape. This was also the first month where you kind of get to see how your fabrics work together. I have to say I am pleased so far.
Lastly, I made a little purchase I thought I’d share. I think I am on board with the Fig Tree & Co. fabrics. I thought they were the perfect shade for autumn without being over the top.
