Mother’s Day Sewing…

Yay!!! I was able to finish my Mother’s Day stitching in time for a gift to mom. Before I figured out what to do with the finished stitched piece designed by Red Bear Designs, I had to make one change to the pattern. The original pattern had the words “Love You Mum”, but my Mom is not “Mum”. So I just added a few stitches to make the U an O and all was good.

While I was working on the stitching I originally thought I might just frame it in a wooden embroidery hoop and be done with it, but then I thought it would make a cute pillow. But earlier this week, my fat quarter bundle of Backyard Roses fabric arrived and it was a perfect match so I thought I would make it into a small quilt.

Mom loves it when I make her little quilts like this one and she was really pleased by this gift. I hope you have a Happy Mother’s Day!

This is such a sweet gift. Good call on turning it into a quilt – the fabric pulls it together beautifully!
