I started a quilt…

I realized that I have been working on so many block swaps, minis, block of the months, WIPs, and other one offs that it has been a really long time since I cut the fabric for an entire quilt.

I pulled the Town Square kit from Sweetwater out of my stash. The fabric is the Sweetwater Elementary line from a couple of years back and it might be one of their most neutral lines. The fabric is cream, aqua and black and is filled with prints full of text and fonts.

The pattern, Town Square is full of simple cubes and lots of sashing and cornerstones.

I was able to get all the fabric cut for this quilt, even the borders and the binding. But when I was going through photos I deleted the photo of all the cut fabric. Darn it. More to come on the progress of this quilt!

It’s nice to get to a quilt after all the little bits and pieces.

I’ve been admiring your more recent Town Square photos, and followed your tags back to get the details on it. I have had a couple of charm packs of Elementary, and some half yard cuts of some of my favorite prints. I’ve used them in zipper pouches for my girls’ favorite teachers. I love the fabrics, but they never said “quilt” to me somehow. Until now! They really work in your beautiful top! You’ve said they are restful, and they really are! And I like the orderly symmetry of the pattern. It’s a great quilt. I’m looking forward to the finish to see how you’ve quilted it!!!!
