Aren’t those lovely threads? These threads were provided to me by Aurifil and Superior Threads since I am an Island Batik Ambassador this year. I always use Aurifil for my piecing and quilting but I have never used Superior before. These variegated threads were such a perfect match for the paper pieced mini that I decided to use them. I was really impressed with how smoothly the Superior thread quilted, I would definitely recommend them.
Here is my paper pieced mini. I call it the Road to Independence. When I was putting it together I originally thought the triangles that make up the road would be foothills to the larger peaks but I liked the idea of making them into a road. The 3 larger mountains beyond the road made me think of Independence Pass here in Colorado so that is where the name came from. All the quilting is straight line quilting which adds so much movement to mini. Overall I’m pleased with my first paper pieced design.
I love the mountains. You make me want to go….
Nicely done. From your peeks, I thought you were going to do the Egyptian pyramids. Love that this mini commemorates something closer to home.
Step..it is BEAUTIFUL!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Nice threads!!!
Beautiful. So calming.
That’s so neat for your first paper pieced mini. Well done 😊
