Moda Bake Shop Sew Along…

I decided to go ahead and do the sew along with Moda Bake Shop because I thought it would be a great way to use up some Bonnie & Camille scraps. The first block is the Prairie Rose Garden block, the layout calls for two of these.

The pattern also calls for 64 Applesauce Cross blocks. The sew along calls for sewers to make a few of these each week, I decided to go ahead and knock them out now so all 64 blocks are done and trimmed to 6 1/2″. I decided to use coral/ red fabric for one simple reason, it’s the fabric in my stash that I had enough of to make 64 blocks.

Since the Applesauce Cross blocks throughout the quilt top will be red, I decided to focus more on navy with accent colors in the other blocks. This block is called Tropical Punch, the directions called for four of them. I’m enjoying these simple blocks. It will be fun to see this quilt to come together in fabrics that I love!!!
