I’m so excited that I was able to join the Fat Quarter Shop Mini Charm Chocolates Quilt Along. For my project I chose to use fabric from French General. The fabric line is Petites Maisons de Noel and it is STUNNING!!!
My plan was to make the small quilt that is the primary layout for the Mini Charm Chocolates Quilt but I was looking through the directions I saw there was an alternate table runner layout and I thought that would be perfect for this fabric.
The table runner is a great size for a sideboard, or a large dining table, or my kitchen island. It finishes at 22 1/2″ x 54 1/2″. It’s also a great project to use mini charms as it takes 3 plus some background fabric.
I could not get high enough above my kitchen island to get a top view of the entire table runner but this gives you an idea. Assembling this quilt top is really simple as you can see.
This pattern is available as a free download from the Fat Quarter Shop. In addition to the crib size pattern and the table runner pattern, there are directions for a lap quilt and a queen sized quilt. This is a great project when you need a fast gift, are teaching a beginner quilter or want to use up some mini charm packs.
I used simple straight line quilting in a light tan to finish the table runner as I did not want to take away too much from the pretty pretty fabrics.
Look at those houses!!! They are so stinkin’ cute. I told my mom she could have this table runner if she likes it, as it will fit perfectly on the sideboard in her kitchen. Maybe she won’t like it and I can keep it. Heh.
