Making A Big Mess…

So this happened. For some, this might be a nightmare but for me it’s going to drive some much needed sorting and organization that has been nagging at me for a while.  In an effort to get to the bottom of my scrap bin for some long lost fabrics, I ended up with a mountain of fabric in my sewing room.

But first, the reason for needing scraps was so I could sew this pile of Square In A Square blocks for the Gypsy Wife quilt. As part of the Quilt Along, we had to make 35 Square In A Square blocks in one week. Of course I wanted great variety in my fabrics so I dug to the bottom of the scrap bin.

The Gypsy Wife pattern calls for 4 different sizes of Square In A Square blocks. I was really dreading this week in the schedule because so many blocks were required so I am happy to have this behind me. About a dozen blocks remain in the schedule and then it will be time to put sections together. More apprehension!

I have time off from my real job next week so I plan to tackle this pile of scraps and get it organized. Katrina can stop looking at me with her judgey look.

Bahaha! My fur baby (a rescue doxie) sits on my feet when I sit down to sew. He can’t stand for me to sew!
