Clementine… Block 1…

Today is the first day of the Fantabulous Clementine Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop!

I am SO excited to make this quilt! It will be a seven month process, with a new block posted on the 25th of each month for six months and a finishing post in the seventh month.

Each month you will make two different sizes of the same block. Cuz you know, twice is nice!

The quilt will finish at 70 1/2″ x 90 1/2″, so it’s BIG!!!

Fat Quarter Shop has a Quilt Kit and Backing Set available for this quilt.

Today’s Block: Block 1 Watermelon Wheel

You will make two versions of this block. My tip is to be very precise with your cutting, especially on the smaller version of this block. You can find the pattern here. The patterns are free to download however, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Here’s a list of bloggers that are sewing along with the Clementine Quilt Along:

  1. Very pretty blocks! This block is an intermediate pattern, I think, because matching the points with the angled seam can be tricky. I consider it a “skill builder” and am happy with my efforts … 🙂 Pat
