Doll Quilts…

A couple weeks ago I was reading a post on Bernie’s blog Needle & Foot about a drive for doll quilts to paired with dolls for special needs kids. Please read about the event at Needle & Foot. After reading about this great event to collect doll quilts I remembered that I made a doll quilt a few years ago that I never did anything with.

This quilt is a simple on point 9 patch  with a western theme but in lovely shades of red and pink. The quilting was a simple grid to accent the 9 patch.

The backing fabric is full of head shots of western women. I imagine that these ladies are all a little sassy. I hope there’s a child out there with dreams of the west that will enjoy this quilt.

  1. Awww what a great cause! I’m sure there is some little girl out there who will love it!! Reminds me of my childhood watching Gunsmoke, The Walton’s and Little House on the Prairie awaiting the Stock Show every year.

  2. This is so cute. The funny thing is that I bought a pair of doll size cowboy boots. This would be the perfect quilt to match them.

  3. I am absolutely sure there will be a confident (sassy?) little horse enthusiast out there who will love this! I like how the grid quilting adds so much texture.
