Making Plans…

Well, we made it through the first week of 2019. I know each of you have most likely put together a list of projects and quilting resolutions that you want to focus on this year. I thought I would let you know what I plan to focus on here at Quilt’n Party this year.

First off, I want to have a little bit of Christmas each week on the the blog. I did not get to participate in Lori Holt’s Vintage Christmas quilt along at the end of 2018 so I am going to have my own, on my own schedule. I’m going to make one of the quilts from her Vintage Christmas book using the 12″ blocks as well as a few smaller projects using the 6″ and 12″ blocks. This way, I’ll be all ready with some Christmas gifts by the time the holiday season rolls around.

Also in 2019, I want to participate in more Blog Hops. I love coming up with projects that go along with the theme of the different Blog Hops as they are a great design challenge. The first Blog Hop that I will be taking part of is coming up in February and is titled, Show Your Wings. The Blog Hop is hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt. You can get more information at her site.

You may or not recall that I am half Hungarian so this year I am participating in the Hungarian Cooking Challenge hosted by Magyar Marketing. Each month the host will email a recipe for a traditional Hungarian dish to all the participants. The goal is to cook the dish and taste it to see what you think. The challenge allows us to use a family recipe for the dish if we already have one. I grew up with a few Hungarian dishes but I thought it would be fun to try the ones that I am not so familiar with.

Of course I have several projects that are in various stages of completion that I want to work on this year and a couple of those include hand embroidery. I used to do a lot of handwork before I started quilting and I am looking forward to getting back to it. I also have a few original designs that I want to work on. This will be a good challenge for me.

OK… let’s get started!

These are great goals and I can probably help you with your blog hop goal if you want to be a featured blogger for our mystery quilt along! 😀

I bought Lori’s Vintage Christmas book over the holidays and can’t wait to get started on one (or more) projects. I have never been so pleased with a book purchase as I am with this one. I am delighted that you will be working on projects throughout the year!

That cooking challenge sounds like a great idea. What a wonderful way to get in touch with your heritage.
