I know it was an easy goal right out of the gate, but it’s still a great finish. This is my Moonlit Path quilt that I made during Cora’s Mystery Quilt Along in 2018.
I am absolutely in love with this quilt. For me there’s nothing like a red, blue and cream quilt. I know it happens every time I finish a quilt, but this one is my favorite quilt I’ve made right now.
I sent this quilt out for professional long arm quilting to my favorite long arm quilter, Holly. Of course she worked her magic on this one and I love the heirloom quilting she did in each of the medallions and the negative space between the medallions.
For the backing, I used fabric that had been in my stash for about 15 years. The red and blue print on cream is some yardage I bought YEARS ago because I fell in love with it. The fabric is by Andover but the selvedge doesn’t state the name of the fabric line. I have been waiting for a quilt to center around this fabric and this was it.
I like how the snow around this quilt really makes the cream background pop. Using a cream background is kind of different for me and gives this quilt a real traditional feel.
