If you recall, I’m participating in a Hungarian Cooking Challenge this year where each month the participants are presented with a recipe to make. The first 3 recipes this year were recipes that I did not grow up with. But April was the month that we were challenged to make Kiflis.
Kiflis are traditionally filled with a fruit filling made with plums, apricots, cherries, whatever fruit making tree you might have. I chose to make mine with cherry and apricot filling.
These little cookies are each 2″ in length and they are so yummy with a cup of coffee. You can find the recipe here. The dough is so easy to work with.
In other holiday baking news, I also made a loaf of Challah bread, simply because I enjoy doing it and everyone loves fresh baked bread.
