This month, the Hungarian Cooking Challenge is to make Lángos. Lángos is a very popular Hungarian street food specialty that is deep fried flat bread made of dough with flour, yeast, salt, and water. Lángos is fried in oil until it is golden brown.
It is eaten fresh and warm, topped with sour cream and grated cheese. It can also be served with powdered sugar for a sweet treat.
I sprinkled some with cinnamon and sugar while they were still warm for a sweet treat.
I prefer my Lángos with smoky gouda, sour cream and a smoked sausage. So yummy! Don’t mind the paper plates, I’m in the middle of packing for a move.
