Now that it’s Friday, today is my day to share with you what I have been working on as part of Masterpiece Quilting’s Christmas Collection Blog Hop. This is a wonderful book that Nancy Scott has put together filled with beautiful holiday projects.
I chose to work on the Poinsettia Bed Runner and Pillow. In the Christmas Collections book, Nancy states that the Poinsettia Bed Runner and Pillow can add seasonal charm to a guest room. I had all these Christmas fabrics in my stash by Lecien fabrics so I decided to use those.
At this time, I’ve only worked on the pillow. I added the borders to the background piece and then I chose to hand applique. I made the curving stem/ vine with a 3/8″ bias tape maker and hand stitched the vines to the background. I then hand appliqued the leaves and the poinsettia petals. Now I have to hand applique the golden center on to the poinsettia. Once I complete the applique I am going to quilt the top on my domestic machine. This piece will become a cheery Christmas pillow.
There are many wonderful quilters who are working on projects from Masterpiece Quilting’s Christmas Collection. Please check them out at Masterpiece Quilting’s blog.
