As you know, the summer of 2019 was one of the hottest on record all over the world. So in the middle of the heat I decided to go to Tucson, AZ to visit a friend and to see just how much more heat I could handle. Who goes to Arizona in July? This girl, that’s who. But at least I got to meet a roadrunner. I’m kind of smitten.
Right after I got off the plane we stopped to visit the Pima Air and Space Museum. We had so much fun walking around the plane boneyard taking photos. The volunteers at this museum were all so friendly and had so much history to share with us about the planes. I suspect every time you visit this wonderful museum you have a unique experience.
We also visited Old Tucson Studios where pretty much every Western film ever filmed was filmed. The gun fight reenactments were lots of fun and all the actors were engaging.
We also visited Tombstone, AZ. Visiting Tombstone was exactly what I thought it would be. It was a little cheesy but you could still fell the history all around you. The actors in Tombstone took their work very serious.
It seems right to bookend this post with another bird. These quail are all around the neighborhood where I was staying. They were fun to watch.
