This is such an exciting day. Today is the kick-off day for the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt Along with Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet and Fat Quarter Shop. Now you know I love me some Lori Holt fabrics and patterns and when I was offered the opportunity to play along I of course said yes. The Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler features all 45 blocks, and room to add a few of your favorite blocks from other Lori Holt books!
Because the quilt along is going in alphabetical order in the Farm Girl Vintage 2 book, the first blocks up are Autumn Pumpkin and Baked With Love. For my blocks I am using fabrics from my stash of Lori Holt fabrics (yes, I know we’ve been over how big that stash is but I can’t help it).
12″ Autumn Pumpkin block.
12″ Baked With Love block, I even embroidered the steam coming out of the freshly baked pie.
I also made this Thanksgiving mini with a 6″ Autumn Pumpkin block. I added some borders so that the mini now measures 9″ x 9″. This will make a lovely Hostess gift for if I decide to crash someone’s Thanksgiving this year.
And yes, that’s snow. We went from 75 degrees one day to 20 degrees the next and snow. For the quilting I just used the squiggly stitch on my machine and sewed diagonally across the quilt top. I really like this effect for a mini quilt. It let’s you focus on the quilt top cuteness without getting lost in the quilting.
