Today I intended to share some Farm Girl Vintage 2 blocks with you, but leaf collecting got in the way. Before I started quilting I did a lot of counted cross stitch. When I saw the Vintage Christmas Sampler I decided that I would give it a go again. I thought it would be nice to have something to work on while I’m watching way too much TV on the already super chilly evenings. I actually started working on this about 3 weeks ago, and was content to just work on the sashing borders on the pattern. This was just ecru floss on the oatmeal fabric.
Early this week I finished my first block on the sampler, the gingerbread house. If you’re familiar with Lori Holt’s Vintage Christmas quilt you’ll see that this little cross stitch is a very close replica to the pieced block from the quilt of the same name.
Just last night I finished the second block, the Christmas Bell. I’ve enjoyed this jump back into counted cross stitch. Next week, I’ll have more Farm Girl Vintage 2 blocks!
