100 Days 100 Blocks Finish…

I’m so happy to let you know that I have completed my Kinship quilt from the 100 Days 100 Blocks challenge in 2019.

There it is, in all it’s glory! When I started making blocks I had no idea how I was going to lay them out in the finished quilt but I have to say that I am so happy with the direction the blocks took me.

Photographing quilts in January is less than inspiring. At least it wasn’t snowing. Although there is snow that has not melted yet in another part of the yard. img_0844

I used an extra wide backing fabric for the first time ever on this quilt. It’s from Lori Holt, just like all the fabrics in the quilt.

How about the gorgeous quilting? My favorite Long Arm Specialist handled this one. I wanted something loopy and soft to counter the strong geometric shapes in this quilt.

It’s my first finish of 2020! Hey, there’s that snow I mentioned.

Your quilt is adorable. I am thinking about doing the next Kinship QAL. Did you use the rulers that were recommended? If so, which ones do you feel we’re the most needed? I am trying to purchase only what l need. Thank you.
