February Color Challenge…

I’m kind of excited about the color for February, teal. Back in the 1980s when I was a teenager, I loved all things teal so I’m happy to see teal get a little respect.

Common Teal

Teal is a deep blue-green color that is named for the colored area around the eye of the common teal bird. Tibetan monks consider teal to be a symbol of the infinity of the sea and sky. Egyptians consider teal to be the color of truth and faith.

Here’s the teal fabric I chose from my stash. You know how you can tell it’s from my stash? Because at this point I have no idea what fabric line this is from. I’ve used this fabric in a few quilts along the way.

I really like the February block, this is a block that creates several different secondary patterns depending on fabric placement. Be sure to check out Patterns by Jen for more information.
