I think it’s fitting that the color for September is Cinnamon. Cinnamon is the smell of all things this time of year so why not the color?
Of course, the color takes it’s name from the spice which has been around since antiquity. Historically, shades for brown have signified poverty as brown clothing was associated with lower classes in ancient Rome.
I struggled with this month because Cinnamon is so close to Rust which we covered a couple of months ago. When I was selecting my Rust fabric I actually considered this one. I’m glad I didn’t use this one because I think it is a better match for Cinnamon than it would be for rust.
